GB Ultras Ambassadors – 2025 Season

GB Ultras Ambassador Role Expectations:

Each Ambassador will be expected to fufil the following throughout the whole of the 12 months that they are appointed.

• Follow the GB Ultras Code of Conduct
• Participate in at least 1 GB Ultras Event within a race season that you are appointed as an Ambassador
• Volunteer in at least 1 GB Ultras Event within a race season that you are appointed as an Ambassador
• Support/attend/lead with at least 1 Official GB Ultras pre-event training day/recce run to help introduce the course to runners
• Throughout the whole of the year, be an active member of the GB Ultras Social Media Community responding to questions, contributing to discussions and sharing your experiences of GB Ultras races that you have taken part in with community members.
• If possible, promote and take part in, Official Marketing Strategies including stalls, shows/talks and social media campaigns.
• Provide a short biography and photograph for the GB Ultras Ambassador page on the website GBUltras.com which will be updated annually and featured in newsletters and social media coverage

 Duration of appointment

 Ambassador roles are appointed for a 12 month period and are not automatlcally renewed. At the end of a 12 month period of being an Ambassador, you will be invited to re-apply for your position.  Should you wish to continue as a GB Ultras Ambassador for the following year, you must have fulfilled each one of the requirements of the role and have been an active contributor throughout the whole 12 months. When an application is received to renew an Ambassador position, a review will be carried out to ensure that all role requirements have been fully met.

Our Mission: To provide friendly, inclusive, high-quality events and training which encourage runners to build their endurance and develop their confidence to participate in ultra-marathon events.

Our Vision: To create the GB Ultras Race Series of 50, 100, and 215 mile ultra-marathon distance running events as well as a 12, 24 and 36 hour timed event which are both nationally and internationally recognised by the running community as amongst the UK’s top choice for race entry and participation.

Who does the code apply to?

Employees – Any person working on behalf of the organisation in a paid capacity.

Ambassadors / Sponsored Athletes – Any person who is formally selected to represent the organisation on a voluntary basis and perform duties in line with the role description.

Volunteers – Any person who performs or offers to perform duties or assume responsibilities on a voluntary basis.

Why is the Code of Conduct needed?

Our Code of Conduct outlines and defines the expectations regarding the behaviour of employees, Ambassadors and/or regular volunteers of the organisation. The code includes behaviours toward colleagues, participants and/or members of the public and applies to all credited under role of  Employee, Ambassador and/or Volunteer regardless of status. GB Ultras promote expression and open communication and expects that employees/Ambassadors/Volunteers follow our code of conduct.

We will:

• Respect colleagues, race participants, event volunteers and members of the public
• Act as a good role model
• Inspire, motivate and encourage participants and members of the GB Ultras community
• Follow GB Ultras policies and procedures
• Uphold the integrity of the organisation and be responsible and accountable for our own behaviour
• Work with the Race Director, Assistant Race Directors, Event Team, Ambassadors, Volunteers, members of the public to promote the values and behaviours of the organisation

We will not:

• Demonstrate inappropriate behaviours such as bullying, physical contact or use language which could be deemed offensive. This includes in person and on-line through social media posts and comments both on personal profiles and profiles/pages/groups managed by GB Ultras.
• Act in a way which creates distrust, causes upset, ridicules or demeans colleagues/participants – this applies both in person and online.

GB Ultras ask you to read the Code of Conduct above and complete the fields below to confirm that you agree to abide by the code. The Code has been agreed and ratified by the Race Directors as of 1st January 2025
